The ConfĂ©dĂ©ration Africaine de Football (CAF) is dedicated to promoting a culture of safety and security in stadiums across Africa, aligning with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and FIFA’s Safeguarding policies. The CAF National Security and Security Officers Symposium (October 29-31, 2024, in Cairo, Egypt) will equip national safety and security officers with modern perspectives on managing and executing football matches, covering essential topics such as security challenges in Africa, CAF Safety Regulations, and the role of National Safety and Security Officers.
Renowned speakers, including Helmut Spahn (FIFA) and Dr. Adrian Dinca (European Group of Football Police), will share their expertise on safety in football. The program includes case studies and practical exercises on accreditation, access control, ticketing, and barrier systems.
Coach Eldred Sunju-Abbey, ACC’s Founder and President, emphasizes, “At ACC, we believe that safety and security are the foundation of a successful and enjoyable football experience. We are committed to partner and support national safety and security officers with knowledge, skills, and best practices to ensure the protection of all individuals involved in football events. Let us work together to create a safe, secure, and thriving football community for all.”
After three days of knowledge exchange, participants will gain valuable insights and practical skills to introduce effective measures at future sporting events in their respective countries. By working together, we can ensure the safety and security of all in football.
